Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A hexahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b-]indole derivative of formula I or its physiologically acceptable salts (R1 is H, halogen, or lower alkyl; R2 is alkyl, alkyl having unsaturated bond, or cycloalkylalkyl; hydrogen atoms at the 4a-position and the 9a-position are trans each other).
EXAMPLE: trans-2-[ 3-( p-Fluorobenzoyl )propyl ]-5,8-dimethyl-2,3,4,4a,5,9b-hexahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole.
USE: Remedy for schizophrenia, etc., having strong central nervous system depressing activity, and weak catalypsy-inducing effect.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by the alkylation of the compound of formula II.
