Abstract:

To produce a thermal spraying roll usable as an iron making process roll without the fear of peeling by coating it with excellent functional thermal spraying coating.

The surface of a roll base material is thermally sprayed with spraying coating having a compsn. contg., by weight, 77 to 90% tungasten carbide(WC) and 10 to 23% cobalt(Co) as a powdery raw material in which the grain size of ≥90% powder is regulated to 10 to 100μm so as to regulate the thickness to 20 to 200μm. The surface of this coating is furthemtore coated with functional spraying coating of metals, intermetallic compounds, ceramic or cermet essentially consisting of one or ≥ two kinds among Mo, Ni, Cr, Co, Al, Y, Al2O3, Cr3C2 and TiO2.
