Abstract:
To provide a cathode containing a solid ionic conductive polymer material having a very high ion diffusivity and conductivity both at room temperature and in a wide temperature range, and a battery containing the cathode.SOLUTION: In a rechargeable cathode and a battery including the cathode, the cathode includes electroactive sulfur and an ionic conductive polymer. The polymer is electrically insulating and has an ionic conductivity of over 1×10-4 S/cm at room temperature and a lithium cation diffusion rate of over 1×10-11 square meters per second at room temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
