Abstract:

To provide a fuel covering zirconium alloy pipe in which the pipe inner surface in contact with a fuel body has SCC(stress corrosion cracking) resistance and superior corrosion resistance.

In a double zirconium alloy pipe with a pipe inner peripheral layer formed of an alloy of different chemical composition from an outer peripheral layer, the outer peripheral layer is formed of an alloy containing Sn: 0.80-1.70wt.%, Fe: 0.07-0.30wt.%, Cr: 0.03-0.20wt.%, oxygen: 0.08-0.16wt.%, Ni: 0.10wt.% or less, Nb: 1.50wt.% or less and the rest formed of Zr and unavoidable impurities, and the inner surface layer is formed of an alloy containing Cu: 0.01-0.10wt.%, Si: 0.005-0.03wt.% and the rest formed of Zr and unavoidable impurities. The wall thickness of the inner layer is 5-20% of the whole wall thickness of the pipe.
