Abstract:

To provide a high-density elastomeric material excellent in all of sound insulation properties, damping properties, thermal conductivity and flexibility in comparison with those of the conventional elastomeric material.

The high-density elastomeric material is obtained by mixing a high-density filler having 7.7-8.0 specific gravity and 6-10 μm median diameter and a carbon fiber having 20-200 nm diameter and 5-20 μm fiber length in fluorine rubber. The high-density filler of 300-450 parts weight and the carbon fiber of 5-15 parts weight are mixed in the fluorine rubber of 100 parts weight. Stainless steel is preferably used as the high-density filler and a vapor-grown carbon fiber is preferably used as the carbon fiber.
