Title:
HIGH-DENSITY MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03273505
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce crosstalk disturbance from an adjacent track by attenuating a sub signal reproduced from a sub reproducing head and subtracting it from a main signal reproduced from a main reproducing head.

CONSTITUTION: Two sub reproducing heads H-1 and H+1 whose track pitch is equal to a distance between the center of the main reproducing head HO and the center of the sub reproducing head and which have reverse azimuth to the head HO are provided on both sides of the head HO as a head device A. At the time of reproducing, the amount of crosstalk is detected by using a tracking detection signal included in the reproducing signal from the sub reproducing heads H-1 and H+2 and a tracking detection signal included in the reproducing signal from the main reproducing head HO, and the reproducing signal from the heads H-1 and H+1 is properly subtracted from the reproducing signal from the head HO in accordance with the detected amount of crosstalk so as to remove the crosstalk of the reproducing signal from the head HO. Thus, the crosstalk from a low band to a high band is excellently removed by the loss of the azimuth.
