Title:
HIGH-DENSITY OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59127245
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high-density optical recording medium structure which allows writing and reading by employing a multilayered structure which has recording layers on both surfaces provided with dielectric layers in between.

CONSTITUTION: In a figure, 21 is a reflecting layer, 22, 24, and 26 are dielectric layers, and the dielectric layer 26 is a protection layer and may be omitted. Further, 23 and 25 are recording layers. The reflection factor of this multilayered structure differ with wavelength; information in the recording layer 23 is read by light with the 1st wavelength and information in the recording layer 25 is read by light with the 2nd wavelength. This optical recording system records information by irradiating the recording layers with light and forming pits, but the information is not recorded in the recording layer 23 without pits in the recording layer 25. For this purpose, the recording layer 25 is striped in a track direction; and the recording layer 25 is used for a track (a) and the recording layer 23 is used for a track 23 to write and read information. Consequently, adjacent tracks differ in wavelength during reading and crosstalk is small, so track intervals are narrowed down.
