Abstract:
To provide a high-density robotic system for performing automated tasks for an assembly.SOLUTION: The invention provides methods and apparatuses for performing automated operations using a high-density robotic cell 2404. An apparatus comprises first multiple robotic devices 2406, second multiple robotic devices 2408, and a control system. Each of the second multiple robotic devices 2408 is coupled to a single function end effector 2428, 2430, 2432. The control system controls the second multiple robotic devices 2408 to concurrently perform tasks at multiple locations on an assembly 304, while the first multiple robotic devices 2406 independently maintain a clamp-up at each of the multiple locations.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24
