Abstract:

To provide an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell stably exhibiting high catalyst activity over a long time by improving durability of the electrode catalyst while suppressing degradation of initial catalyst activity.

In this electrode catalyst for a fuel cell, an alloy comprising platinum and a platinum-group metal other than platinum is supported to carbon. The electrode catalyst for a fuel cell is characterized in that the composition ratio of platinum: the platinum-group metal: carbon is 1: (0.03-1.5): (0.46-2.2) (wt. ratio).
