Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently execute the compression and to unify the transmitting data quantity for a prescribed area by transmitting at least two out of the output of a compressing encoding circuit, the maximum value, the minimum value and information related to the dynamic range. CONSTITUTION:The title device is provided with converting encoding circuits 2 and 3, blocking circuits 4 and 5, circuits 11 and 12 to detect a maximum value MAX and a minimum value MIN of the data of respective blocks, a circuit 14 to detect a dynamic range DR for a block from the maximum value MAX and the minimum value MIN and a circuit 6 to detect the difference between respective data of the block composed of the same order coefficient value data and the maximum MAX or the minimum value MIN and compress and encode the data of the difference by the number of bits smaller than the original number of bits in accordance with the information of the dynamic range. At least two are transmitted out of the output of a compressing encoding circuit 6, the maximum value MAX, the minimum value MIN and information related to the dynamic range DR. Thus, the data compression are efficiently carried out and the output data can be made into a constant rate.
