To provide the design of a swim fin, which gives high safety and big pleasure.
A method, which increases the dynamic lift of a hydrofoil and the swim fin and decreases resistance, is disclosed. This method includes the hydrofoil (104), which is equipped with a leading edge (108) greatly retreated and is oriented to an attack angle fairly reduced, and this reduced attack angle is substantially produced at an angle of a lateral direction to the direction of the hydrofoil which moves in a surrounding fluid medium. The method, in which the hydrofoil (104) is equipped with a recess of a substantially longitudinal direction which is substantially arranged along the center axis of the hydrofoil, i.e., a flow mechanism, is indicated. Since this central recess, i.e., the flow mechanism makes it possible that water flows as it remains clinging along the leeward side surface of the hydrofoil and joins water flowing from an attack surface through the recess, i.e., the flow mechanism, the dynamic lift is effectively generated.
