Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-efficiency linear combustion engine.SOLUTION: Various embodiments of this invention target at: a cylinder having a cylinder wall and a pair of end parts, the cylinder containing a combustion section arranged at a central portion of the cylinder; a pair of opposite piston assemblies adapted to linearly move in the cylinder, each piston assembly is arranged on one side of a combustion section opposite to the other piston assembly, each piston assembly including a spring rod, and a piston having a solid front section and a gas section, which are adjacent to the combustion section; and a linear combustion engine including the piston assembly and a pair of linear electromagnetic machines.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
