Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency energy supply means in which a high frequency resonance magnetic field can be concentrically supplied to a smaller space than in conventional devices, and a high frequency electrodeless discharge lamp device using that.
SOLUTION: A group 10 of vane type side cavity resonators comprises conductive material of low electric resistance such as copper to compose a structure in which four vanes 12a-12b are protruded from a cylinder toward a center. At the center, an electrodeless discharge lamp 11 is provided. Arrows show electric power lines of resonance high frequency magnetic field E, and 'a' and '-' respectively express positive and negative polarity of charge Q generated at a protruded part of the van 12a-12b. By the resonance high frequency field E, ionization-possible medium in the electrodeless lamp 11 makes discharge to emit light. By thus utilizing a high frequency energy supply means to a high frequency electrodesless discharge lamp device, high frequency energy can be effectively coupled even with a relatively compact electrodeless lamp.
