Title:
HIGH FUSING POINT BOX AND SINTERING BOX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08325065
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a new device for in-situ sealing for conducting binder burn-out in an open atmosphere, and sintering in a closed atmosphere.

A single furnace load cycle technique and a ventable sintering box 7 are provided for sintering products such as ceramic substrates. The sintering box 7 includes a closeable cover 20 which is held open by collapsible or deformable or sensitive spacers 16, 18 in a first furnace temperature range. The sensitive spacers 16, 18 collapse or deform in a higher temperature range to seal the closed box 7 and the substrates 25 therein. Volatile agents within the substrates are thus permitted to escape in the first temperature range, but are prevented from escaping in the higher temperature range. Additional sensitive spacers for applying a weight upon the substrates by collapse or deformation are used when in a further higher temperature range.
