Abstract:

PURPOSE: To offer a high hydrogen system flux cored wire which provides a good resistance against pit when used for horizontal fillet welding of a wash primer coated steel sheet that is frequently used in the fields of shipbuilding, steel frames, bridges, etc.

CONSTITUTION: In the high hydrogen type flux cored wire for fillet welding containing a hydrogen source compound, by making the total S amount of the wire (total sum of the S amount from a steel skin, flux and remaining drawing lubricant) 0.010-0.025 weight %, and also making the S amount from the remaining drawing lubricant not less than 0.003 weight %, the generation of minute pits on the toe part of a bead, which is a problem in the case of using the conventional flux cored wire of this kind, is prevented.
