Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the ripple of a capacitor in high power factor converter.
SOLUTION: The high power factor converter comprises a choke coil 5 and a capacitor 6 connected in series between the DC terminals of an AC-DC converter circuit 2 having at least one high frequency main switching element 22, and a series circuit of an auxiliary switching element 3 and an auxiliary diode 4 connected in parallel with the choke coil 5. An sinusoidal AC input current is produced by turning each switching element on/off and the capacitor is subjected to constant voltage control.
