PURPOSE: To provide a high pressure casting apparatus and a method for supplying molten metal thereof, in which the molten metal temp. at the molten metal supplying device is suppressed to the comparatively low and further, the desired high pressure casting can be executed by supplying the molten metal having the desired high temp. into an injection sleeve.
CONSTITUTION: A heater 8 for heating the molten metal M in a molten metal supplying tube to a higher temp. than the molten metal at the molten metal supplying device 5 is arranged around the molten metal supplying tube 4 connecting the injection sleeve 3 with the molten metal supplying device 5 in a casting machine body 1. Further, the molten metal supplying tube has the inner capacity of one shot of the molten metal or more forced into a cavity C of a metallic mold 10 from the injection sleeve 3. By this constitution, the molten metal of the necessary and sufficient quantity by the one shot is heated in the molten metal supplying tube in the good thermal efficiency and the desired high temp. molten metal can be supplied into the injection sleeve and thus, energy consumption is reduced, and the deterioration of the molten metal quality in the molten metal supplying device and the lowering of service life of the heater can be prevented. Further, the cast product having good shape and internal quality can be obtd. in the good production efficiency.
