To provide a high pressure container for e.g. a supercritical extraction apparatus facilitating the attachment and detachment and opening and closing of a lid, and solving the problem that opening and closing of a high pressure container and attachment of the container to and detachment of the container from a supercritical extraction apparatus require much time and cause wear of joints exposed to frequently repeated detachment owing to high-pressure operation of the container in e.g. the supercritical extraction apparatus.

An upper lid 3 and a lower lid 4 are arranged at both ends of the body 2 of the high pressure container 1. Recessed parts are formed at the center of the outer surfaces of the lids 3 and 4, and the protruded parts of an upper nozzle 5 and a lower nozzle 6 having a conical protruded tip are brought into tight contact with the recessed parts with the lower nozzle 6 held with a spring 15. The container is closed tightly by pressing the upper nozzle 5 mechanically. A passage penetrating into the container 1 is disposed at the centers between the lids 3 and 4 and between the nozzles 5 and 6.
