To prevent damage to an attachment flange of a high pressure fuel supply pump.
The high pressure fuel supply pump includes a constricted part S1 provided between an outer wall part of a pump housing 1 on a pressurizing chamber 11 side and an annular fixing part 41a and surrounding an outer periphery of an end part on an opposite side to the pressurizing chamber 11 of a cylinder 6, and a conical surface is provided on an outer peripheral surface part between the constricted part S1 and the annular fixing part 41a. When force for making the pump housing float up from an attachment surface acts on the outer periphery of the cylinder, the conical surface part equally distributes the force to the whole periphery of the cylinder, and thereby, local concentration of stress on the cylinder can be prevented, and sliding gap between the cylinder and a plunger can be prevented from being partially too small.
