Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a discharge capacity control mechanism of a high pressure fuel supply pump.SOLUTION: A high pressure fuel supply pump includes: a cylinder; a plunger for changing a capacity in the cylinder by reciprocating in the cylinder; a valve body provided on a downstream side of a through hole so as to open/close the through hole connecting the inside of the cylinder and a low pressure fuel passage; a first spring for energizing the valve body in a valve-opening direction; an engaging member installed on the low pressure fuel passage side, and operating the valve body to a releasing position against the force of the first spring; a second spring adding force against the force of the first spring to the engaging member; and an electromagnetic drive device for releasing the engaging member from an engagement state with the valve body against the force of the second spring.
