Title:
HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5944759
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure separation of an adjacent conductor from the external surface of a luminous tube while lighting, by connecting one end of the adjacent conductor provided on the outer face of luminous tube to a lead pole brace through a thermally responsive body, and by connecting the other end to the lead pole brace through a wound part.

CONSTITUTION: A luminous tube 2 is supported by lead pole braces 5, 6 in an external tube 1; one end of an adjacent conductor 8 is welded and fixed to a lead pole brace 5 through a bimetal plate, while said adjacent conductor 8 composed of a molybdenum wire is almost stuck to the luminous tube 2 and provided in the direction of the tube axis; and the other end of the adjacent conductor 8 is bent at right angles, and further welded and fixed to the lead pole brace 5 through a wound part 8a which is wound 3 times; thus a high pressure sodium lamp is formed. Consequently, when the lamp is lighted, the thermally responsive body 7 is inverted and also the wound part 8a is moved using the expanded part 8b and the fixed part of the lead pole brace 5 as a fulcurum; so the adjacent conductor 8 can be securely separated from the external surface of the luminous tube 2 and the deposition of sodium through the tube wall can be prevented.
