Abstract:
To produce a high purity diphenyl carbonate composition which has reduced discoloration, and can be advantageously used in the production of a high-molecular weight polycarbonate.
The high purity diphenyl carbonate comprises methylphenylphenyl carbonate, and has a content of the methylphenylphenyl carbonate of ≤300 wt.ppm, and the total content of impurities including the methylphenylphenyl carbonate of ≤1 wt.% with the rest being diphenyl carbonate, reduces discoloration, and can be advantageously used in the production of a high-molecular weight polycarbonate.
