Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an org. plastic lens member for spectacles which is the cured product of a monomer compd. having a refractive index of at least 1.56.

CONSTITUTION: The org. plastic lens 18 is the cured product of the monomer compd. composed of a resin monomer, a hardener selected from arom. anhydride, arom. diamide, thioamide and thioamine, and a refractive index improving additive selected from an alkyl group or arom. diol or thiol and transition metal alkoxide. This org. plastic lens is integrally molded as a single-focus lens or as a glass-plastic laminated double-focus lens structural body by molding the lens as a segment, loading this segment into a recess 20 on the front convex face of a main org. plastic lens 14 having the refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the segment and inserting the segment between this face and an inorg. glass lens member 12 via an intermediate adhesive layer 16.
