Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain an image signal with high sensitivity by applying low shot to extend the light sensing time at each image when an output level of a solid- state image pickup element is lowered at dark state. CONSTITUTION:Since the intensity of light incident on a solid-state image pickup element 3 is weakened at darkness (at night), the level of an image signal outputted from a video amplifier 4 is lowered. When the level of the detected image signal is lowered to 1/2, 1/3, a scanning control circuit 6 changes the scanning time of the solid-state image pickup element 3 at each 2/60sec and each 3/60sec from each 1/60sec in order to increase the output of the solid-state image pickup element 3. Thus, the sensitive time (storage time) at each picture of the image pickup element 3 is extended from 1/60sec to 2/60sec and 3/60 sec and an image signal output with sufficient intensity is obtained from the image pickup element 3.
