Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-silicon electromagnetic steel sheet having low iron- loss characteristics in a high-frequency region, maintaining a high amplitude- permeability characteristic.
SOLUTION: The high-silicon electromagnetic steel sheet is characterized by including Si of 5-7 wt.%, Cr of 0.1-2 wt.% and Al of less than 0.005 wt.%, and having thickness of 0.3 mm or less, and a structure containing penetrating grains through the sheet thickness. The manufacturing method preferably includes heating the rolled steel thin-sheet containing 4% or less Si in a continuous furnace at the temperature of 1,050°C or higher in an atmosphere of silicon tetrachloride or the like to obtain the above composition range. Coarse grains can be obtained by magnetically annealing the steel at a temperature of 1,050°C or higher.
