Abstract:

To provide a high density electric connector capable of providing 80 or more twin-shaft connections per straight line inch in a card slot of 20 mm.

This connector 18 is used for connecting a daughter card 20 to a back panel 22, and includes a daughter card interposed body 30, a back panel interposed body 32 and an overmold 34 for storing a semi-rigid twin-shaft or a coaxial cable. Center conductors of twin-shaft cables 20 and 40 are copper and outside jackets are net wires. Fuzz button devices 50, 52, 60 and 62 are arranged on each of the daughter card interposed body 30 and the back panel interposed body 32. By surrounding end parts of the twin-shaft cables 40 and 42, the twin-shaft cables 40 and 42 are shielded to control impedance of the connector 18.
