The multistage stand block 10 for roll mill is provided with a plurality of roll stands 16 which are alternately arranged on both sides of the pass line. Manufactured product are worked with rolls in the downstream direction from the feeding end of the block to the delivery end. A driving shaft is arranged on both sides of the pass line and provided with an coaxial shaft segments 20 connected with a coupling 22. Each roll stand 16 is connected to corresponding one of the line shaft segments 20. A block driving means is connected to the line shaft in the place of the upstream end of the block. Since the coupling 22 is selectively separable, the line shaft part 20 on the downstream side and the roll stand 16 connected to the line shaft part can be mechanically separated from the block driving means.
