PURPOSE: To increase the number of forging times and to form a forging having finer crystal grains with higher forging efficiency in a hydraulically operated high speed forming machine provided with four hammer heads by using a hydraulic servocontrol valve for synchronizing control of the hammer heads.
CONSTITUTION: Hammer heads 3 are made into a hydraulic direct acting type. The oil fed forcibly by a pump 14 is supplied through a quick shutoff valve 15 which is normally held open by a changeover valve 24 and through a servocontrol valve 13 to the heads 3 and cylinders 2 in the stage of a forging operation. The pressure oil enters (a) through a pipe 25 and the return oil flows through (b) and pipes 26, 27 to a tank 19 when the heads 3 are opened. A waveform signal is commanded to the valve 13 from a waveform commander 29 in order to actuate the oil fed by the pump 14 so as to oscillate the heads 3. The commander 29 performs synchronizing control by comparing the waveform output of the four heads 3 with a reference waveform and correcting the input to the valve 13 by the differential signal thereof. The number of forging times is thus increased to about 10W20 cycles per second.
