PURPOSE: To obtain a high-speed rotary press capable of testing the printability of various inks and also of using papers of a smaller width than ones used in the commercial printers and having the dame other constitution as the commercial printers.

CONSTITUTION: In a high-speed rotary press having a printing cylinder 11, an ink supplier 20, an ink source device 30, and a damping water supplier 50, the printing cylinder 11 can be turned either normally or reversely, and the ink supplier 20 is provided with a turning direction switcher concertedly operating with the printing cylinder 11. Also, the ink source device 30 can supply different kinds of inks, the damping water supplier 50 can supply damping water even to the printer cylinder 11 or to the ink supplier 20, and a continuous paper can be supplied in a switching manner according to the normal or reverse turning of the printing cylinder 11. By this, lithographic printing is attained when the printing cylinder turns normally, and also lithographic direct printing or letterpress printing is attained when the cylinder 11 turns reversely.
