PURPOSE: To convey a front end sheet to an outlet station edgewise at high speed by making use of original elastic rigidity of a sheet, a card, or the like, forming a pocket on the lower front edge of the sheet by deforming, buckling and curving, and breaking original fiber lock frictional adhesion between surfaces of mutually adjacent sheets.
CONSTITUTION: Respective front edge sheets of a block 31 of overlapped sheets are town and engaged with feed belts 34, and the lower edge of the sheet is formed into a curved surface between the feed belts 34 by a separating means 51. Fiber lock frictional adhesion between the front edge sheet and the next sheet is broken, the front edge sheet is propelled downward edgewise along a feed path approximately coinciding with the feed surface by a synchronous feed belt, the lower edge of the sheet is received and guided between a discharge belt 59 and a pinch roller 62 by a central discharge belt 59, and the sheet is turned on the curved surface between the belt 59 and the roller 62 and propelled along an outlet path 65.
