PURPOSE: To provide activated carbon fiber filter with high strength and large withstanding pressure.

CONSTITUTION: An activated carbon fiber bed 2 is put between cotton 6a, 6b composed of polyester fiber above and below, and simultaneously part of the polyester fiber constituting the cotton 6a,6b passes through the activated carbon fiber bed 2 to be intertwined with each other, so that the activated carbon fiber 1 is supported by a three dimensional structure formed by the polyester fiber 5 to markedly increase the strength of the whole activated carbon fiber filter 8. A process where the activated carbon fiber bed 2 is put between cotton 6a,6b composed of two polyester fibers 5 and a process where making a needle with plural thorn-shaped projections pass through these laminated materials and pulling it out is repeated many times are used, causing part of the polyester fiber 5 constituting vertical lines to pass through the activated carbon fiber bed 2 to get intertwined with each other, permitting a high strength activated carbon fiber filter 8 of the above-mentioned construction to be formed.
