To provide a high strength bamboo plywood having a small difference of thicknesses of bamboo plywoods, small strength differences of longitudinal and lateral directions, easily automatic manufacture, stable quality and small energy and cost required for the manufacture and a method for manufacturing it.
The high strength bamboo plywood has a core constituting part 34 having at least two bamboo veneers 24 and sandwiched between a face board and a bottom board constituting portions 30, 32 having a mono-layer bamboo veneer in such a manner that the mono-layer bamboo veneers are thermally press bonded to each other by a waterproofing adhesive with a preservative. The veneers are formed of a plurality of bamboo shaping members 20 radially cut to be divided in an extending direction of the fibers of the bamboo material have the same widths and thicknesses of a range of substantially 15 to 30 mm of a width and a range of substantially 1 to 5 mm of a thickness. The face board and the bottom board are coated with paints.
