PURPOSE: To obtain a composite sheet which prevents expansion rate from being dropped by absorption of water, improves holding force of a wood screw and is light in weight and superior in strength and rigidity, by a method wherein the composite sheet is constituted of a reinforcing plate of thermoplastic resin and a ligneous board which are compounded with a specific quantity of continuous long fibers aligned unidirectionally.
CONSTITUTION: Continuous long fibers are aligned by arranging unidirectionally on one plane of either one or both of the surfaces of a ligneous board 11, into which thermoplastic resin is infiltrated so that a compounding ratio of the fiber at a weight containing rate becomes at least 40% and not exceeding 80%. A high-strength composite sheet 1A is prepared by performing heat bonding of reinforcing plates 12, 13 comprised by laminating prepregs molded into a sheetlike state by changing orienting direction of their fiber. Then the reinforcing plates 12, 13 are heat-bonded to a thermal fusion layer 15 formed by infiltrating thermoplastic resin which is the same kind as that infiltrated into the reinforcing plates 12, 13 extending over a depth of 0.1-1mm in the surface of the ligneous board 11 becoming a base to which the reinforcing plates 12, 13 are bonded.
