Title:
HIGH-STRENGTH ELECTRIC WIRE CORD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3649350
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure high strength even when the diameter of an electric wire cord is reduced by using polybenzazole fibers having the tensile strength of at least 4.0GPa and the single yarn fineness exceeding 1.0 denier for a core section.
CONSTITUTION: Polybenzo bisoxasole(PBO) fibers and para-amide fibers having base yarn characteristics are used for a core section (reinforcing fibers), and multiple urethane-coated oxygen copper wire bundles are wound on the core section to form a composite lead wire. The composite lead wire is coated with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to form an electric wire cord, e.g. an earphone cord. The PBO fibers having the tensile strength of at least 4.0GPa, the single yarn fineness exceeding 1.0 denier, and the total fineness of 500 denier or below are used for the polybendazole fibers constituting the core section. High strength is attained, the strength is secured even when the core wire is made fine in diameter, and the machining characterictic can be improved.
