Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength race which has high impact characteristics and high rolling fatigue characteristics, and has excellent producibility as well, and a production method therefor.
SOLUTION: The race uses steel having a composition containing 0.30 to 0.60% C, 0.30 to 1.30% Si, 0.2 to 1.0% Mn, ≤0.0050% B, 0.1 to 0.05% Cr, 0.1 to 0.5% Mo, 0.5 to 1.4% Si+Mo and 0.02 to 1.0% Ni, and the balance mainly Fe. The surface hardness after induction hardening is ≥58 HRC, and the surface hardness after 300°C tempering is ≥52 HRC. In its production method, the above steel is heated at 720 to 790°C and warm-forged, is held at 850±10°C and normalized, is cooled at 3 to 10°C/min, is held at 550°C for ≥20 min, is allowed to cool in the air, is further formed into a prescribed shape by machining, is subjected to induction hardening and tempering, and is subjected to finish working.
