Title:
HIGH-STRENGTH STAINLESS STEEL WIRE UNDETECTABLE BY NEEDLE DETECTOR, SPRING USING THIS STEEL WIRE AND SPRING PRODUCT USING THIS SPRING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3836747
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-magnetic, high-strength stainless steel wire for uses where a non-magnetic property is strictly required, e.g. for a spring in a dress hanger undetected by a needle detector, and a non-magnetic stainless spring product using this steel wire.
SOLUTION: The high-strength stainless steel wire undetectable by the needle detector comprises, by mass, ≤0.08% C, ≤1.0% Si, 12-17% Mn, 1.0-6.0% Ni, 17.0-19.0% Cr, 0.3-1.5% Mo and 0.20-0.60% N, wherein their contents are adjusted to satisfy the formula: 0.9≤(Mn+Ni+N)/(Cr+Mo)≤1.1. Through cold working, the wire achieves a 0.2% proof stress (σ0.2) of 1,600-2,500 N/mm2 and a fibrous structure which extends to yield an average grain size of ≤0.5 μm at a given cross section.
