Title:
HIGH STRENGTH WIRE ROD EXCELLENT IN DELAYED FRACTURE RESISTANCE AND FORGEABILITY AND/OR UNDER HEAD TOUGHNESS AND ITS PRODUCING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3816721
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength wire rod excellent in forgeability, under head toughness as a bolt, and a delayed fracture resistance, and having tensile strength of ≥1,200 N/mm2, and to provide a useful method for producing the same high strength wire rod.
SOLUTION: This wire rod is composed of steel containing 0.50 to 1.0% C, and in which the content of Si is suppressed to <0.1% as well, and, by suppressing the formation of one or more kinds of structures among pro- eutectoid ferrite, pro-eutectoid cementite, bainite and martensite, the area ratio of a pearlitic structure is controlled to ≥80%, and also, by forced wire drawing, strength of ≥1,200 N/mm2 and excellent delayed fracture resistance are imparted thereto.
