Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title ceramics having superior bending strength and acid resistance by mixing a ZrO2 sintered body contg. Y2O3 as a stabilizing agent with a specified amt. of Al- and Mg-contg. components and firing the mixture at a prescribed temp.

CONSTITUTION: Al- and Mg-contg. components are added to a ZrO2 sintered body contg. 1.5-5 mol% Y2O3 as a stabilizing agent by 1-30 wt.% (expressed in terms of Al2O3 and MgO), in total, basing on the amt. of the sintered body in (35-45):(65-55), (60-75):(40-25) or (85-99):(15-1) molar ratio of Al2O3: MgO. They are mixed and fired at 1,200-1,350°C.
