Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the cutting resistance and cutting temperature, increase the cutting efficiency, and improve the durability of a tool by using a sintered diamond rotary tool in the high-temperature and high-speed cutting.

CONSTITUTION: A sintered diamond rotary tool 29 is a round saw cutter with edge sections 43 arranged at a distance along the outer periphery of a disk-like base plate 42, and a sintered diamond tip 44 is fitted to each edge section 43 as a tip. Since the sintered diamond is poor in physical or chemical affinity with aluminum and its alloy, the adhesion, deposition, compression, etc. of a work onto the edge section is small as compared with other cutting tools, and the thermal conductivity is also excellent, thus a very good cutting feature can be obtained.
