Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of the whole of facility by providing such a constitution that high and low temperature heat is obtained by an open type Brayton cycle heat pump through air serving as the mediums, without interposing overheated steam, in a process when thermal energy is changed into mechanical energy.

CONSTITUTION: A nuclear reactor 1 is a high temperature gas furnace in which helium gas is used as a first coolant, and a helium gas turbine 3 and a heat exchanger 4 for cooling are arranged on a first gas circulating passage 2 there of, and a power generator 6 is driven by the helium gas turbine 3. A secondary gas circulating passage 7 in which helium gas is used as a heating medium is connected to the heating exchange 4 for cooling, and a turbine 8, cooler 9, and storing part 10 are arranged on the secondary gas circulating passage 7, and an air compressor 11 is driven by the turbine 8. Air compressed by the air compressor 11 is supplied to an expansion turbine 13 through a heat exchanger 12.
