To provide a reliable secondary battery system which has both a load levelling function and an uninterruptible power supply function, is capable of detaching an interconnected system from a power grid when an interconnection protection relay is actuated according to an interconnection technology requirement guide line, and does not lose the uninterruptible power supply function even if the interconnection protection relay fails.
A high-temperature operation type secondary battery system 10 that has both a load levelling function and an uninterruptible power supply function is provided. The high-temperature operation type secondary battery system 10 comprises a high-temperature operation type secondary battery 3 connected to a power grid 1, and an interconnection AC-DC converter 4 which is provided between the power grid 1 and the high-temperature operation type secondary battery 3 and charges/discharges the high-temperature operation type secondary battery 3 to the power grid 1. It also comprises an uninterruptible power supply device 11 of a full-time inverter power supply method which is provided between a power grid 7 and a load 2 and whose source of power supply is the high-temperature operation type secondary battery 3, and a DC chopper 5 which is provided between the high-temperature operation type secondary batter 3 and a DC circuit part of the uninterruptible power supply device 11 and converts a voltage of the high-temperature operation type secondary battery 3.
