Abstract:

To provide a heating method and a pressing method for a steel sheet for forming under heating used to high temperature press forming for making high mechanical strength and excellent press formability compatible.

In the high temperature pressing method for a metallic strip excellent in productivity, a direct current or an alternating current is applied to a metallic strip by power feed devices 2 controlled so that the material to be heated can be heated in the range of a prescribed length as is a metallic strip 7 to heat the metallic strip to a prescribed temperature, and the metallic strip is subjected to forming, quenching and blanking by a press 3. The power feed devices are desirably rolls each made of a conductive material. It is also preferable that the material to be heated is heated to a prescribed temperature by an induction heating system by coils arranged so that the material to be heated can be heated in the range of a prescribed length as is the metallic strip instead of the above heating system.
