Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a high temperature thermoelectric material, having excellent thermoelectric characteristics at a high temperature and sufficient heat-resisting property at high temperature, hardly generating deterioration in characteristics, and which can be manufactured at low cost.
SOLUTION: This thermoelectric material is a high-temperature thermoelectric material composed mainly of a cobalt-antimony compound consisting of as sintered body having the relative density of 75% or higher, and the powdery molded body of the thermoelectric material, having the chemical composition of 2.7<x<3 in the element content of Sb/Co=x, is fired in a non-oxidizing atmosphere in atmospheric air. In this case, the crystal phase, constituting the powdery molded body, consists of cubic crystal type CoSb2 (A phase), a single diagonal crystal type CoSb2 (B phase) and a hexagonal crystal CoSb (C phase), and the compositional ratio of these crystal phases becomes (Ib+Ic/(IA +IB+IC-<0.15(X=A, B, C) indicates X-ray diffraction relative intensity) in the intensity ratio by X-ray diffraction measurement.
