PURPOSE: To obtain a tube in which characteristics such as creep resistance, thermal spalling resistance, etc., are improved and which has no contamination and a long life in a high temperature tube to be used for conveying a roller hearth kiln at 1400-1700°C.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature tube to be used for conveying in a roller hearth kiln is formed by mixing aggregate containing electrofused mullite with 10-15wt.% of inorganic binding material and 1-10wt.% of organic binding material. The aggregate is a refractory material having a diameter of 10μm-1mm, and formed solely of the mullite or the mullite in combination with one or both of electrofused alumina and sintered alumina. Further, the inorganic binding material may be formed by combining one or more types of mullite, alumina, clay and silica having a diameter of 10μm or less. Such a high temperature tube can be molded by an extrusion molding method.
