Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accumulate large energy by one conduction by magnetically applying a bias in opposite direction to the magnetic core of a coil or a transformer used for boosting means in a flyback DC-DC converter.

CONSTITUTION: A boosting means 20 consists of a coil 21 with a magnetic core magnetically biased in a direction for increasing energy accumulated at a magnetic core, a switch means 23 for switching current for accumulating energy in the magnetic core of the coil 21, and a rectifier means 24 for blocking the energy return from the load side when closing the switching means 23. Then, current is supplied from a DC power supply 10 to the coil 21 to accumulate energy in the magnetic core and the energy is discharged to a device 30 to be driven repeatedly, thus making compact and light a high-voltage load drive device using a flyback type DC-DC converter circuit and improving efficiency.
