NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 is 3-25C cyclic hydrocarbon group.
EXAMPLE: 2,4-Dicyclopropyl-1-butene.
USE: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted at 0-100°C by using a catalyst consisting essentially of (A) a transition metallic compound of group IVB and (B) methylaluminoxane to produce the compound expressed by formula I. Bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride, etc., are exemplified as the compound (A). The use of methylaluminoxane having ≤50% high-magnetic field component in a methyl proton signal region based on Al-CH3 bonds observed by a proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry is required as the component (B). For example, a chain compound expressed by formula III (n is 2-50) and a cyclic compound having recurring units expressed by formula IV are cited.
