Title:
HIGHLY SENSITIVE FLIGHT-TIME MASS ANALYZER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3623711
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly sensitive flight-time mass analyzer capable of properly converging ions, keeping the vacuum of an ion detection pat and improving the resolution of mass analysis by devising the ionization of a sample and an acceleration part of ions.
SOLUTION: The highly sensitive flight-time mass analyzer comprises a ring repeller electrode 41 for applying high voltage, having a ring part for covering an ionized portion of the sample, a drawing skimmer electrode 42 located at the downstream side of the ring repeller electrode 41 in the direction of the flow of the sample, and a grounding skimmer electrode 43 located near the downstream side of the drawing skimmer electrode 42, whereby good ion convergence is performed, an ion convergence point is set at the end of the grounding skimmer electrode 43, the entry of neutral molecules into an ion flight and detection part are minimized and the two-stage acceleration of ions is allowed.
