Title:
HIGHLY SUBSTITUTED SULPHOALKYLCELLULOSE DERIVATIVE, ESPECIALLY SULPHOETHYLCELLULOSE, THEIR PREPARATION AND USE THEREOF AS THICKENING AGENT FOR TEXTILE PRINTING PASTE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06220101
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a chemically and biologically stable sulphoalkylcellulose derivative having a specific substitution degree by sulphoalkyl groups, which does not react with dyestuffs, exhibit excellent printing properties, and does not harden textiles at the time of using as a thickening agent or a rheology improver in textile printing.

CONSTITUTION: The present invention relates to sulphoalkylcellulose derivatives, in particular sulphoethylcellulose, with a degree of substitution by sulphoethyl groups of 1.2 to 2.0, especially of 1.4 to 1.8. The process for producing the sulphoalkylcellulose derivatives is characterized in that the process consists of one to three steps, in which, preferably in the last two steps, mixing by drying and mill-grinding and refining is carried out after the first step, and, in the first step, etherification reaction is carried out by a suspension method.
