To obtain a silicone acrylic random copolymer excellent in melt flow properties, crosslinkability, light transmissivity, grazing resistance, and the like, to provide a method for producing the copolymer, and to obtain a highly transparent adhesive, a coating agent and a molded form each made from the copolymer through utilizing the thermoformability of the copolymer.
This silicone acrylic copolymer is obtained by suspension polymerization or multistage bulk polymerization of a monomer having a polymerizable unsaturated bond and/or its macromonomer and a reactive silicone monomer and/or its macromonomer at a specified ratio while giving much consideration to their mutual compatibility. The silicone acrylic random copolymer thus obtained has 3-30 g/10 min melt flow rate at 230°C under 3.92×105 Pa load and also has ≥90% light transmittance measured at a spectrophotometry both before and after thermoforming of the copolymer. Spherical resin particles are prepared from the copolymer.
