To provide a hinge device and electronic equipment using the hinge device attaining further cost reduction without causing looseness, torsion or distortion, having high rigidity at low cost and capable of accurately maintaining engagement in a predetermined turning position.

The hinge device for pivoting a first member and a second member is provided with a storage part 6 provided with a turning shaft 5, at a first mounting part 3 or a second mounting part 4 mounted to the second member. An energizing member 7 is stored in the storage part, and an engaging member 8 slidable in the turning shaft direction in the storage part against the energizing member is provided in a rotation stop state, and a relative turning engaging member 9 ruggedly engaged overlapping with the engaging member by energization of the energizing member to maintain engagement in the predetermined turning position and turnable relative to the engaging member with the turning shaft as a supporting shaft, is integrally provided at the second member or the first member, or provided at the second mounting part or the first mounting part mounted to the second member or the first member.
